Zegna’s Falcon Jacket: A Vision of Freedom

Zegna’s Falcon jacket honours the maison’s heritage and is designed to become a trusted companion for years to come.

Across history and cultures, the falcon represents many qualities, among them precision, boldness and nobility. It is therefore fitting that Zegna has chosen to name a new wardrobe icon in its repertoire after the majestic bird.

The Falcon jacket’s conception is an amalgamation of vision and heritage. Its inspiration can be traced back to Oasi Zegna, the expansive nature reserve nestled in the Italian Alps, where Zegna’s enduring commitment to sustainability, responsible luxury and harmony between industry and nature takes root.

The story of the Falcon jacket is recorded inside the jacket.

Ermenegildo Zegna, the maison’s founder, would climb to San Bernardo, a historic 14th-century mountain church perched atop Monte Rubello in Trivero, every Saturday. It is said that, on one occasion, he witnessed a falcon flying overhead. The sight left a lasting impression on the founder — soaring high above the ground, the falcon’s flight came to represent strength and possibility, later influencing the ethos of the brand.

For the falcon to fly as freely as it desires, nature has done its work. Similarly, every detail of the Falcon jacket, from its design to its construction, has been carefully considered. Its cashmere body provides warmth while retaining a sense of ease in its structure. Bellows-style pockets add a utilitarian yet polished touch, while the back gusset recalls classic tailoring, allowing for ease of movement without compromising formality. A leather undercollar lends tactile structure, while Zegna’s signature 232 Road brand mark, a tribute to the road that runs through Oasi Zegna, provides a subtle finishing touch.

Functional details abound in the Falcon jacket.

The jacket is available as part of Su Misura, Zegna’s made-to-measure service. To suit the lifestyle of its wearer, a curated range of textiles has been selected to complement the jacket’s outdoor functionality.

The Falcon jacket embodies Zegna’s vision of honouring its heritage while continuing to push the boundaries of innovation. The jacket also reflects the spirit of individuality and freedom, much like the adventurous, free-roaming nature of its muse, the falcon. In its design, it captures the idea that true luxury lies in the freedom to move through the world on one’s own terms.
