IWC Schaffhausen Unveils New F1 Team Watch
IWC Schaffhausen’s latest Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team watch takes inspiration from Singapore’s iconic orchid, the Vanda Miss Joaquim, introducing a deep purple dial to the Pilot’s collection.

For its fourth year, IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled a new F1 team watch, with this edition resonating closer to home. The new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

What stands out about this timepiece is its 41mm chronograph case in a deep purple shade, a first in IWC’s Pilot’s collection. The timepiece is crafted from Grade 5 titanium, at half the weight of steel, it is a material prized throughout F1 for its favourable strength-to-density ratio and resistance to heat. It is perhaps these engineering qualities that make the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team fit in so seamlessly, whether it is worn inside or out of the paddock, because like its predecessors, the new watch will be worn by team members trackside.

On the dial, the stop minutes are indicated at 12 o’clock via IWC’s hallmark vertical subdial layout, allowing for effortless elapsed-time readings. This dial configuration has been a signature feature of IWC’s Pilot’s Chronographs for more than four decades, while the combined day-date display at 3 o’clock adds a layer of practicality. The purple dial also creates a striking visual contrast against the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team’s signature green accents.

This is the fourth official team watch. The first — the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition “Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team” — was unveiled at the 2022 Miami Grand Prix. It was followed by the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, launched at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023. In 2025, IWC and its partner opened the season with the release of the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team (Ref. IW328210).
The debut of the new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is in line with the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix in October, where the team is set to compete at the sport’s first night race, completing 62 laps at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. As F1 gears up for October, IWC’s latest team watch ensures there will be plenty of purple in the paddock.
