Dario Vitale Takes Over Emporio Armani

Dario Vitale steps into his new role as Creative Director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories.

“What’s next for Dario Vitale?” is a question that has been in our minds for quite some time.

Well, it seems we now have the answer — Vitale’s the new storyteller of Emporio Armani. The designer has been appointed Creative Director of Emporio Armani, as well as taking charge of Giorgio Armani’s accessories line. The appointment marks a monumental era for the house, making Vitale the first person outside the Armani Family to take on the role.

After graduating from Istituto Marangoni in Milan. Vitale started off in Dsquared2 before joining Tomas Maier’s Bottega Veneta. In 2010, he moved to Miu Miu, where he eventually oversaw the ready-to-wear collections under the guidance of Miuccia Prada. Nearly after 14 years, he left Miu Miu in 2025 to become the Chief Creative Officer at Versace. There, he also held the distinction of becoming the first designer outside the Versace family to lead the house. However, his time at the brand was short-lived — the Spring 2026 collection was his only runway collection for Versace before departing in December 2025.

At Armani, Vitale has landed at one of Italy’s most recognisable fashion brands. He will work alongside Silvana Armani and Leo Dell’Orco.

“Armani has a powerful legacy and unmistakable design language; a heritage that has spanned decades and shaped the history of fashion. I approach all of this with a deep sense of responsibility and excitement as we build upon that rich foundation, defining a new era together,” says Vitale in press notes.

Since Giorgio Armani’s passing in September 2025, the house has remained closely tied to the people who worked alongside him. Vitale is expected to bring a new voice into the Armani picture, offering a fresh perspective without losing sight of what makes Armani, well, Armani.
