Chaumet Brings Us on a Journey Through Nature With Their High Jewellery
Chaumet turns to nature’s unchanging rhythms for inspiration for their latest high jewellery collection, A Journey Through Nature.
It’s no secret that we live in a world that is in constant pursuit of the new, our increasingly short attention spans shrinking with every fresh concept that captures our fancies, only to fade into the endless churn of novelty. It’s in a time and an age like this that true artistry reclaims its power — when creation turns not to spectacle, but to the enduring rhythms of nature, reminding us that beauty is not a passing spark but a living continuum. Chaumet’s newest high jewellery collection, inspired by the organic poetry of the natural world, arrives as a fine reminder.
The French luxury jewellery and watch maison has long been revered as “the great naturalist jeweller”, something that has been a part of Chaumet’s identity from the very beginning. Not long after he established his workshop in 1780, founder Marie-Étienne Nitot began to sign off on his correspondence with the words “naturalist jeweller”. In the almost 250 years that followed, Chaumet has continued to pay tribute to nature through its high jewellery collections, even up to today. This was seen in recent collections like 2016’s Nature de Chaumet, 2023’s Le Jardin de Chaumet, and 2025’s Jewels By Nature. This year, the narrative continues with A Journey Through Nature, launched earlier this year with a star-studded gala dinner and presentation at the historic Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay in France.
An ode to raw materials in their purest state, A Journey Through Nature celebrates “the infinitely noble and the infinitesimally small” in the form of plants, spices and herbs. Gold and gems unite across parures, making up jewelled equivalents of pods, pistils, seeds and petals. Yet beyond the tangible, the collection suggests the intangible: plants that conjure flavours, evoke memories, and stir sensations. Here, observation meets with emotion and the journey shifts from far‑off landscapes to deeply personal feelings.
At 12 Vendôme, Chaumet’s designers and artisans have crafted pieces imbued with movement and lightness. Volumes and materials interact in contemporary fashion, organic curves narrating a story of freedom expressed through form and colour. As a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council with a rightful concern for the future, Chaumet sources wholly traceable raw materials, adhering only to the strictest ethical standards. Each gem in A Journey Through Nature is meticulously chosen not only for its rarity, but for the emotion it elicits
The collection features 46 pieces, unfolding through three chapters. The journey begins with the first chapter, Botanic Freshness. Verdant, almost tangy notes define the three parures of this section. Tea Field boasts sparkling white-gold pieces accented with deep green Colombian emeralds that call to mind majestic waterfalls and terraced tea fields, while Verbena Bouquet spotlights mesh and dreamy pastel gemstones. Meanwhile, Mint Leaf paints a refreshing portrait of crystal-clear waters with glacial blue and pure white, contrasting creamy Akoya pearls with sparkling emerald-cut aquamarines set off by brilliant-cut diamonds.
Spicy Sweetness dictates the collection’s second chapter, enveloping the senses with the delicacy of Vanilla Flower, Star Anise and Cinnamon Bark. Vanilla Flower features white gold and diamonds in its recreation of the forms of the vanilla orchid; while Star Anise celebrates the shape of the star with diamonds and candy-pink sapphires from Madagascar, and Cinnamon Bark conjures up warmth with amber-coloured tourmalines, rubellites and garnets.
The Bee brooch crafted with white gold and yellow gold stands out as one of the 25 brooches in A Journey Through Nature that explore the honeycomb motif. The sparkling piece is sophisticated yet playful, depicting a brilliant diamond-encrusted bee foraging nectar from a singular 3.33 carat cushion-cut FIY VVS1 yellow diamond.
Finally, the collection culminates with Aromatic Warmth. This third and final chapter, comprising Coffee Aroma, Peppercorns and Saffron Flower leans into the richer, more powerful sensation of warmth, resonant with strength and character. The expressive and invigorating aroma of coffee is captured via deep blue sapphires and bean-shaped tassels, while whorls of white gold and pavé diamonds mirror the trailing scent of a fresh brew. Another parure manifests the simple yet impactful shape and character of peppercorns, employing white gold and brilliant-cut diamonds for monochromatic pieces rich in texture.
The final Saffron Flower parure gleams with vibrant allure, paying homage to one of the world’s most coveted spices through its prized yellow diamond. One of the Saffron Flower brooches marries brilliant-cut diamonds with splendid multi-coloured grand feu enamel to recreate the gorgeous image of saffron flower in bloom, while another features a pair of fluttering bees complete with yellow diamond heads, white diamond wings and a 7.80 carat cushion-cut purple spinel to dance around.
From parure to parure, A Journey Through Nature is both sensory and symbolic. It is a perennial reminder that nature’s treasures, transformed by the human hand, remain the most eloquent expression of beauty.
