Celine Spring/Summer 2027 Has Something New to Say

Micheal Rider’s Celine collection offered new ideas for the wardrobe.

The Celine Spring/Summer 2027 show was all about expecting the unexpected. Under creative director Michael Rider, a new era (and attitude) has been set in motion. Closing out Paris Men’s Fashion Week with his first standalone menswear runway, Rider built on what he achieved in previous seasons and pushed the agenda even further by giving us a masterclass in how to style your pieces right.

Rider took familiar staples and gave them a new lease on life through styling. A cummerbund, for instance, no longer waits patiently for a tuxedo. Rider paired it with knitwear and tailored trousers for something that felt far less formal, but no less intriguing.

Rider’s colour story consisted of hues such as red, vibrant pinks, baby yellows, electric blues and punchy greens. The collection brought shades together through analogous pairings and bold colour blocking, proving that a considered “clash” or combination can give an outfit more depth and personality.

Then came the silhouettes. Like what we saw at Prada and Dior, Rider made a case for going slim again. There were skinny trousers, skinny capri pants and skinny slim-cut denim, but there were also voluminous parachute trousers. Retro prints, florals, fringe, brooches and oversized scarves added personality to otherwise familiar silhouettes.

The fashion set walked away from the show with a thing or two to learn from Rider’s take on the new Celine — one where a statement brooch or a cummerbund can be styled with an attitude that feels cool, fresh and sexy. The next seasons of Celine will no doubt continue to surprise.
